What to See and Do in Arlington
Arlington may look like your typical suburbia upon first glance. But, look a little closer and you’ll find that natural beauty abounds. Revisit its early history at the Fort Caroline National Memorial. The Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve covers 46,000 acres on the outskirts of Arlington. Here, you’ll find the Kingsley Plantation, American Beach, Cedar Point, the Theodore Roosevelt Area, and much, much more. Spend hours hiking or canoeing at the preserve. Tree Hill Nature Center houses several different animal species. Their community garden supplies fresh food to the Arlington Community Services’ food pantry. And their annual butterfly festival is truly a sight to behold. The Jacksonville Arboretum and Garden offers miles of hiking and biking trails for any adventurous soul.
